A website everyone can use.
Many of the people we serve live with a disability, and so do many of the family members and partners who reach out to us. We want this website to work for all of them.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That standard covers things like text contrast, keyboard access, screen reader support, clear headings and labels, and respecting reduced-motion settings.
What we have done
- The whole site, including the menu and forms, works with a keyboard alone.
- Images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text colors meet AA contrast levels.
- Every form field has a label, and form errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers.
- We test pages with automated accessibility tools and by hand.
